“Hidden O‘ahu – 5 Places to take a date in a crunch!!!”
Not all of us are doing the 30-year commitment thing for a number of reasons. A lot of us are playing the field, searching for that “right one,” and some just aren’t into commitment (and it seems we always end up with this kine!). So you’re at the bar, an AA meeting, or just taking a lovely evening stroll out in the park (hehe) and you meet someone you are really attracted to. The conversation is super hot, or maybe so-so, but still, you feel that magnetic attraction and want to get away from the crowd. Maybe you’re even thinking of finally discovering what your old junior high counselor meant by “heavy petting,” ‘cause no ack, you still don’t know what she meant! Anyways, the point is, when you meet someone that you want to know better, and you can’t go home cause you both live with your parents or your aunty, here are some golden Pearl City places a UTOPIA member has shared with us so that you can mack in peace…
“1) Blaisdell Park - Keep in mind the Park closes at 10 pm, and the crazy lady that lives in the park chases you out at 10 pm (she drives a white dodge caravan...you'll know it's her because she tends to be yelling, at who, I don't know). Just park and ride. I have noticed that when you look suspicious, people look. So I tend to park in the open air where anyone can see, but I have found that when you do that no one even bothers to peep in. (NIGHT)
2) Waiau Park - (if you are facing the Waiau Fire Station it is the parking lot to your left) The best hours are after 8 pm, and although you may see police vehicles pass you by every other 15 minutes, hold on to your cool and not to worry they don't bother. (NIGHT)
3) Hiking Trail at Pacific Palisades - Anywhere on the trail. There are so many spots, just find a bush or a forest of trees. There's even a waterfall at the end of the trail, but be sure to follow the right "colored ribbon." If you don't, you might end up on the hog trail and get shot by a huntsman. (DAY & NIGHT)
3) The freeway underpass behind 7-11 - This is if you are in a rush. The best times to go is after 8pm, this way you don't bump into any joggers who are walking to their vehicles.
4) Pearl City Industrial Park - If you are on Kamehameha Hwy, make the second right after you pass Sam's Club, it's right before H-2. Just find a spot on the curb and park, don't worry about the few cars that past by, just continue. (anytime after 10 pm)
5) The baseball bleachers at Pearl City Highlands Intermediate - (anytime after 10 pm) Park your car on the curb near the school, and walk to the baseball field. It is hidden behind the rec center. You have a choice of the bleachers, or you could go nutz in the middle of the baseball field.”
Jus’ remember, everyone at UTOPIA cares about each other and wants you to be safe and healthy wit whoever you wit! Quite a few of us give free and anonymous HIV testing and if it’s getting harder and harder to be safe (as it is for most of us) come check out the May retreat, where we’ll talk about staying healthy, but keeping it real!
